Why Your Self-Care Is an Important Need for Your Kids
Parent trauma-informed training helps caregivers better understand how difficult experiences can affect a child’s emotions, behavior, and ability to learn. An important focus of this training is why your self-care is an essential need for your children. When parents care for their own physical, emotional, and mental well-being, they are better able to respond to their children with patience, empathy, and consistency—especially during stressful moments. Trauma-informed trainings help parents understand how stress and trauma affect both children and adults, while offering practical strategies such as creating healthy routines, recognizing emotional triggers, and modeling positive coping skills. When parents practice self-care—whether through rest, support from others, reflection, or healthy stress-management—they show children how to regulate emotions and handle challenges in constructive ways. By supporting their own well-being, parents create calmer, more stable environments where children feel safe, supported, and better able to grow, heal, and learn.

Exodus World Service Dinner
Supporting Refugee Families: An Evening with Exodus World Service
Reynolds’ Provisions is honored to attend and support a special dinner benefiting Exodus World Service, an organization dedicated to welcoming and supporting refugees as they rebuild their lives in the United States. Since 1988, Exodus World Service has mobilized communities to help refugees through education, volunteer partnerships, and practical service that assists families as they transition into new neighborhoods and cultures. (Exodus World Service)
This meaningful evening will bring together community members, advocates, and organizations who share a commitment to compassion and service. Guests will gather to learn more about the challenges refugees face and the ways local communities can come together to provide friendship, resources, and hope. Exodus World Service works to educate individuals and faith communities about the realities refugees encounter, while connecting volunteers with refugee families through programs that foster meaningful relationships and practical support. (Exodus World Service)
For Reynolds’ Provisions, the mission of supporting children and families experiencing hardship aligns closely with the work of Exodus World Service. Many refugee families arrive with young children who must adapt to new schools, languages, and communities. By supporting organizations like Exodus, Reynolds’ Provisions helps strengthen networks of care that ensure families are welcomed, supported, and empowered as they build new lives.
Reynolds’ Provisions is grateful to stand alongside Exodus World Service and the many partners who believe that when communities open their hearts, refugees are not just resettled—they are truly welcomed.

The Importance of Creating a Coping Plan
Parent trauma-informed training helps caregivers better understand how difficult experiences can affect a child’s emotions, behavior, and ability to learn. One important topic discussed in this training is the importance of creating a coping plan—a proactive strategy that helps both parents and children respond to stressful moments in healthy and supportive ways. When parents learn about the impact of stress and trauma on a child’s developing brain, they gain tools to respond with patience, empathy, and consistency rather than frustration or punishment. These trainings focus on practical strategies such as building predictable routines, strengthening parent–child relationships, recognizing emotional triggers, and helping children learn healthy ways to express and regulate their feelings. A coping plan may include calming strategies, trusted support people, and routines that help children feel secure during challenging moments. By equipping parents with knowledge and supportive techniques, trauma-informed training empowers families to create safe, nurturing environments where children can heal, develop resilience, and grow into confident learners.

Friday January 12, 2024
You are invited to our first prayer of 2024!
Attendance is not required. As a believer in prayer, I ask that you keep our world's teachers, families, and children in prayer daily. Jesus stated that children will inherit the world. But we adults are not doing a good job of keeping our world safe for our children. Let's work to change this in 2024, beginning with prayer!
If you decide to join, click the video link at 9 am. on January 12th. I look forward to seeing you there.
Love always, Dr. Rebecca
